Why It’s The Little Things That Matter

Good morning, today I wanted to take a moment to remind you guys why it’s the little things that matter in your everyday life. Recently I’ve been using my bullet journal more than just for lists and have been doing a section where each day I write down something small that happened that made me happy or that I was thankful for. This is a great way to practice gratitude and make you think about the smallest good thing in even the hardest of days.

In our lives it’s hard to always stay positive but once you’ve grasped the mindset of finding the good in everything, suddenly life seems to get a whole lot better. My grandma always had a kind word about everyone, and always saw the good in everything and that’s what I aspire to do was well. Not every moment of every day are you going to be super cheerful but in those moments it’s extra important to remember all the good things (even little) in life. For example if you had a bad day at work try thinking “At least I have a job” or “At least I am making money”, because not everyone has that opportunity, just like when your complaining about school be grateful you have the chance to go to school. Just look around you, be grateful you can see the sunset because someone out there just saw their last one.

Try to take a moment each day and focus on the good things that happened, write it down in your bullet journal or if bullet journaling is not your thing, there are plenty of meditation and gratitude apps that help you be mindful. Set a timer (even for 1 minute) and just relax stay calm and breathe. My favourite app is “Stop, Breathe & Think” but I have heard good things about “Headspace” (though it requires a paid subscription). Daily meditation can help you both physically and mentally but that’s a whole other topic (maybe I’ll do entire post dedicated to that).

Thanks for reading and remember “It’s a good day to have a good day”.

Until next time,
