Good morning, hope everyone is staying well. As promised here is my list for Ottawa. (In case you missed my last post here is a short recap). Every week I go to our local bakery to pick up bread and then pick up groceries. It’s always important to support local but especially now during the COVID pandemic. We need to support small business as they are feeling the most pressure (and it’s more eco friendly since it helps lower carbon emissions from shipping and the packaging). I always post about supporting local, so I decided to compile a list of local businesses to support in Ottawa. Please please share, I would really appreciate it and I’m sure the businesses as well. There are so many places but here 10 local businesses to get you started.
Please Note : When ordering delivery, try to order directly from that place instead of using a delivery service (eg. Uber Eats, Skip the Dishes etc). For some small businesses, they barely break even on orders and have advised to order right from the restaurant.
Places you can support |
Plant & Curio : Not only do they have the cutest plants they also sell items form local artists and fellow small buisnesses |
The Happy Goat : Super cute vibe, great flat white and they don’t charge for milk substitutions! |
–> Chaiwala : *Bonus* technically not local to Ottawa, but they are a small Toronto based business and they serve their chai at The Sandy Hill Happy Goat on Wilbrod in Ottawa |
Elevate Yoga : While the studio is closed they are still keeping up with classes online |
Cozmos Souvlaki : They have great greek food |
MooShu Ice cream : I haven’t had anything form here but I had several people recommend it to me |
Feline Café : I also haven’t been here yet but so many of my friends recommend it |
El Camino : They have really good food and pricing |
Oh So Good : There desserts really are oh so good |
Sushi Fresh : I’ve ordered from here a few times, pretty good price for the quantity |
Pure Kitchen : Great vegan and dairy free option or for those looking for something a little bit better (kinda pricey tho) |
I also wanted to share this website, they have a list of Black Owned Local business for all sorts of things and services, I highly recommend checking them out.
